Lisa Mersereau

Ms. Mersereau serves as Of Counsel with Schumann Arevalo LLP. Ms. Mersereau’s practice focuses primarily on insurance defense and general liability litigation including catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, high-exposure property damage litigation, uninsured/underinsured motorist litigation and landlord-tenant litigation.

Prior to joining Schumann Arevalo LLP. Ms. Mersereau spent over 15 years representing developers, general contractors, subcontractors, product manufacturers, and suppliers in high-exposure, complex construction defect litigation. Ms. Mersereau has significant experience with insurance coverage and related issues, including risk allocations, indemnity obligations, additional insured obligations, contractual defense obligations, deductibles, insolvency situations, under-insured projects, carrier exhaustion, WRAP policies and Self-Insured Retentions. This experience has afforded her the unique ability to handle cases with an overall view of pertinent, often complex, insurance and financial issues impacting her clients necessary for achieving successful results.

Ms. Mersereau earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Marketing from San Diego State University, her Master’s of Business Administration in Management from San Diego State University, and her Juris Doctorate from University of San Diego School of Law.

Ms. Mersereau has served on numerous non-profit boards, including the Board of Directors for the Rancho Penasquitos Town Council in San Diego. In addition, Ms. Mersereau contributes significant time and resources to numerous charitable activities. In 2006, she co-founded DS Action, a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation which partnered with Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego to establish the first pediatric Down Syndrome Center in Southern California.
