Mr. Jamarne serves as Of Counsel with Schumann Arevalo LLP. Mr. Jamarne specializes in litigating a wide variety of practice areas, including large scale, high-exposure, complex multi-party general liability cases arising out of catastrophic accidents, often involving life-altering injury, including paralysis, dismemberment, brain injury and/or wrongful death. Mr. Jamarne also serves as monitoring counsel on various general liability matters for multiple insurance carriers and their insureds.
Mr. Jamarne’s civil litigation practice extends to landlord-tenant litigation, general defamation defense, fraud and misrepresentation, as well as trial practice. Mr. Jamarne also focuses his practice on transportation and trucking litigation defense, serving as defense counsel for various trucking and transportation companies nationwide.
Mr. Jamarne’s trial and mediation experience is notable. Mr. Jamarne is experienced trial counsel, having first-chaired 15 jury trials to verdict in a wide range of areas inclusive of personal injury and landlord-tenant matters. Mr. Jamarne applies detail-oriented approaches to litigation to accomplish his clients’ goals.
Prior to joining Schumann Arevalo LLP, Mr. Jamarne spent years representing general contractors and subcontractors in high-exposure, complex construction defect litigation. Mr. Jamarne has significant experience with risk allocations, indemnity obligations, additional insured obligations, contractual defense obligations, deductibles, insolvency situations, WRAP policies, and Self-Insured Retentions. Mr. Jamarne also has experience handling intellectual property, commercial litigation, real estate, trade secrets, contract, and employment cases, including civil litigation in state and federal courts.
Mr. Jamarne has previously served as deputy trial counsel at the State Bar of California, Office of Chief Trial Counsel, where he prosecuted professional misconduct cases against California lawyers. Additionally, Mr. Jamarne previously served as Deputy City Attorney at the Office of the Los Angeles City Attorney, where he prosecuted criminal cases.
Mr. Jamarne currently serves as the Secretary and Treasurer of the Orange County Bar Association, Tort & Trial Law Section. Mr. Jamarne is certified by the Orange County Bar Association College of Trial Advocacy. Mr. Jamarne has also served as a delegate to the Los Angeles County Bar Association Delegation to the Conference of California Bar Associations, where he performed an active role in creating California legislation.
Mr. Jamarne is known for his attention to detail as well as his timely and frequent communication, reporting, and investigation. Mr. Jamarne places himself “in the shoes of his clients” in order to provide optimal representation. Mr. Jamarne is fluent in Spanish and frequently provides legal representation to Spanish-speaking clients.
