James T. Biggs serves as Of Counsel with Schumann Arevalo LLP. With more than 28 years of experience, his practice focuses on complex business litigation, construction defect litigation in both commercial and residential projects, insurance coverage, personal injury, wrongful death and premises liability. In addition, Mr. Biggs has significant experience in professional negligence including legal malpractice and medical negligence.

Mr. Biggs is a member of the State Bar of California and is admitted to practice before all state courts and the Southern District, Central District and Eastern District Federal Courts of California. He has been a member of the William J. Ferguson, American Inns of Court, from 2002 until 2013, and earned Team Leader awards in 2010 and 2011.

Mr. Biggs has practiced law in Southern California since 1995. Mr. Biggs has served as lead or co-counsel in various state cases, arbitrations, appeals, and mediations, including personal injury, medical and legal malpractice. He prepared and argued a leading Appellate case regarding worker’s compensation lien rights as against personal injury recovery in the matter of Gapuson v. Jay (1998) 66 Cal.App.4th 734.
